Winter 2002
November 7th, 2002I’ve been struggling to find an upbeat theme for this year-end newsletter and it’s been difficult. We all know the bad news: terrorism here and abroad, threats of war, global warming, and great economic uncertainty.
The one thing we do have control over is our attitude. What we “feed” our brain, before going to sleep especially, is just as important to our well-being as the food we feed our physical body during the day. The mind has a great deal of influence over our outer reality. It’s particularly important at this time that we cultivate an attitude of inner peace, rather than being swept up in a climate of fear. As “brain food” I’d recommend reading anything by the following authors: Thich Nhat Hahn, the Dalai Lama, Joan Borysenko, Christiane Northrup, Deepak Chopra, Rumi, and Bernie Siegel. I’ve also compiled a list of websites that will hopefully be of interest. Thanks to those of you who have contributed to this list.
