Most of us have had an emotional reaction to this election. A therapist friend says that all of her clients have been depressed, and the mood reminds her of the days after 9-11.

Younger people seem to have been hit especially hard. Susannah, a friend of my daughter’s, wrote the following: “Exit polls indicated that Americans are most concerned about protecting values. The most basic moral fiber that makes up this beloved America we revere is a celebration of equality for ALL, despite the individual agendas we may have. Since when does morality mean furthering our own interests while disregarding those of others? And since when does morality mean that we work harder to strip others of their rights than we work to embrace differences?
