PERSPECTIVE

May 18th, 2007

In this newsletter I’d like to offer perspective on the changes we appear to be experiencing. People are feeling a sense of a loss of control over many aspects of life. This is reflected in the outer arena by such things as extreme weather patterns, increasing polarization in the political arena, and a sense that we aren’t safe in our homes and schools. I often repeat the phrase “The darkest hour is just before dawn,” and I’m always looking toward that dawn; seeing it as a harbinger of more peaceful times, much as the robin is a harbinger of spring. Those of us who are “sensitives” or psychic have a tendency to live in the future. It’s what allows us to do the work we do with clients. It also creates what is referred to as “memories of the future.”

From this perspective we are clearly in a period of massive change, some would say crisis. It is by its nature a very malleable period. Many of you have been introduced to the concept of the field, or noosphere, sometimes referred to as the gap. The book and movie titled “The Secret” have popularized these notions. The information they contain is neither secret or new, but it is timely. Ancient truths are entering the mainstream through many New Age vehicles. Sensitives and mystics, and currently some physicists, have been saying the same thing throughout recorded history. In a period of change and uncertainty people are simply more open to hearing an alternative perspective. This is the nature of parallax - the perspective has been there all along but the old boundaries/certainties are crumbling, allowing information to bubble through. I see this as a signal of the changing of the ages whether referred to as the shift from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age, or from the 3rd dimension to the 4th, or the ending of the Mayan Calendar. All of these terms refer to the same phenomenon from a different perspective.

The 3rd dimension has to do with seeing physical matter as real and solid. The 4th dimension sees the same reality as comprised of fields of information, acknowledging the space between the atoms. This is the nature of the morphic field where matter can be influenced by thought, where personal and social reality can be affected. This is sometimes referred to as manifestation. It is this space/field that these new age books and movies are tapping into: the space where our thoughts and feelings influence the material world. In a time of major change the “stuff” of the world is more malleable. This is an important point. Change can be very unsettling, but periods of major social change are times when anything is possible and when we have the greatest influence over this experiment we call life.

Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle implies that the act of observation affects the outcome of the experiment. In terms of particle/wave theory, if you are measuring particles you’ll find particles and if you are measuring waves you’ll see waves. This used to be framed as duality whereas the new physics/new thought realizes that the measuring instrument is limited, and that it is possible to be both at one and the same time. We are now moving into a universe of non-duality: seeing the particle and the wave as different manifestations of the same thing. It is our perspective that changes what we “see”, affecting our interpretation and experience of “reality.” When we recognize that “all is one”, that both the particle and wave (or observer and observed) are manifestations of “what is”, this is truly a eureka moment. This is what I am referring to when I say “It’s All Done With Mirrors.” When this change occurs internally it affects everything we say and do. For if we realize we are truly affecting the field, much as a pebble sends waves out into infinity, it becomes imperative that we accept greater responsibility for our thoughts, words and actions. The purpose of this knowledge is not to use it to make our first million but to take responsibility for our contribution to the future of at least the next eight generations, both here on earth and in our planetary system. It is this truth that all of the ancient teachings, and their modern interpretations, are pointing to.

“Another effect of this repetition (of words) is that the word is reflected upon the universal spirit, and the universal mechanism then begins to repeat it automatically. In other words, what man repeats, God then begins to repeat until it is materialized and has become a reality in all planes of existence.”
