EVOLUTION CONTINUED

“When we are all well and healthy and adequately fulfilling the concept ‘human being’, then experiences of transcendence should in principle be commonplace.”

Abraham Maslow 1908–1970

“All mystics speak the same language and come from the same country.” Louis Claude de St-Martin 1743-1803

In this newsletter I’ll attempt to weave together threads that have appeared in all previous newsletters. In June I spoke of our evolution as a culture, a concept that is reaching mainstream acceptance. And as many of you know, the book that explains my life’s work deals with astrology as developmental process, rather than as a series of sun signs. In addition, previous issues have referenced the change in theoretical physics from classical to quantum thought. We have also discussed changes in brain structure as humans have evolved. All of these ideas are different ways of looking at the same thing – evolutionary development on both the individual and collective scale. Physics is a language that doesn’t deal with this issue directly but speaks of it indirectly in the wave vs particle discussion. All spiritual languages reference the fact that we are all one (part of the wave). And it’s only when we see ourselves as separate (the particle) that we have problems with others and with what “is”. Scientists who study the brain talk about the functions of different sections of the brain having evolved at different points in our evolutionary progress. In 1985 I “saw” a third hemisphere appearing in babies that would link the right and left hemisphere, changing the shape of skulls. My thought is that the next step in brain development is literally going to be part of this linking to the “all” that mystics and sensitives have always had access to. At this point more and more people are awakening to this reality. It can happen as a result of a near death experience (NDE), deprivation leading to an altered state, or even a reading with someone who sees your past present and future with no information other than your name or your birth information. There is no rational way to explain these experiences. And once an individual has been altered in this manner there is, as they say, “no going back”. One “knows”. It’s not something that anyone can explain. There are no words in this other reality.

The astrological system starts with the sign Aries, where we separate from the oceanic protection of the womb and emerge as an individual being. Each sign adds stage appropriate levels of development until we arrive back at the last sign of Pisces, the ocean where we were completely merged with the mother’s, now the collective, energy. This way of approaching astrology is similar to Maslow’s pyramid of needs in psychological theory. When the Aquarian Age is referred to we’re looking at the development of cultures, a process which occurs approximately every 2500 years. We have been moving into the Aquarian Age as a group since the 60’s. We are at the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Physics provides a wonderful framework for this change in its own evolution from classical physics (where things are seen as separate, discreet objects) to quantum physics which focuses on the relationship between those things. Native and (ab)original cultures have always known of this relationship between people and nature and animals. They have never understood the European scientific model that separates things from one another, and they have suffered greatly as a result.

While some are concerned about the “end of the world” I am hopeful that more and more people are opening up and are making this shift into a more relational way of living. A prime example of this approach is the number of cross-species stories and photographs that have been appearing in our inboxes. Wonderful stories. If you would like to have me forward these photos and stories to you let me know. There are more and more animal communicators among us, which is a wonderful thing. I have always heard my animals (and plants) speak. Even my cars talk to me. This way of thinking and living used to be labeled anthropomorphosis, and thought “cute”. I find that people are much more likely to consider these behaviors as real at this point in time. Many are even having these experiences themselves. Again, people in (ab)original and native cultures have always considered this way of gaining knowledge to be the norm. Another sign of acceptance is the growing number of gatherings of people who have had encounters with beings from other planets and galaxies. I can remember going to these meetings 30 years ago and the people attending were marginalized and not seen as credible. This has changed dramatically. If this is something of interest to you please visit www.disclosureproject.org. And if you’re interested in a wonderful description of the nature of altered states and would like some guidance in reaching them pick up a book titled Medium, Mystic and Physicist by Lawrence LeShan. Published in 1966 it’s the best description I’ve ever read of what it’s like to live in these different levels of reality. He’s a research psychologist and it’s a very sound book. Another classic is Many Lives, Many Masters, written by Brian Weiss Ph.D. psychiatrist.

I recommend stepping back from the hysteria that surrounds much of what passes as “news” at this point. Change is inevitable and there is always a great deal of fear and anger that accompanies the discomfort of going through change. It’s the reason many people stay in dead-end jobs and marriages. They’re afraid of the unknown. There’s so much that can’t be grasped by the logical, consensus reality brain and can only be “sensed”. If we think in terms of the individual/discreet particle vs the wave it helps. People who place more value on individual rights and freedoms are fighting this inevitable change, largely out of fear, because they have no framework for it. People who have experienced the interconnection offered by other states of reality know that the health of the whole has to be taken into account. The beauty of the so-called Aquarian Age is that it honors what the individual brings to the collective. It’s not the old form of political collective (communism, socialism) which suppress the needs of the individual. It’s a time of honoring the gifts that each individual possesses; and the knowledge that the protections a society offers must apply to all in equal measure, not just to certain groups.

Peace be.
