Point of View

May 23rd, 2005

In keeping with the theme of Parallax, i.e. our point of view affects our interpretation of events, or believing is seeing, I will offer some thoughts on current issues in this column.

In astrological parlance, people often dread the effects (transits) of some of the “harder” planets, such as Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, or Saturn. Yet these planets force us to grow at an accelerated rate and in directions we might never have considered if not “forced” into the growth process. When the outer planets have contact with aspects of our charts, our soul speaks in the language of that planet. Oftentimes this will correlate with a physical/medical “problem”, with the body speaking for the soul, if we haven’t understood the soul’s voice. The soul will speak as yearnings, crying for no apparent reason, dreams that stay with us, synchronicities (sometimes referred to as meaningful coincidences). If we ignore the emotional/physical symptoms, we may find that events force us to take action. Eventually, we will hear the language of the spheres/planets and we’ll resolve the tension. A reading of the mythology of the planets, especially at the time a particular planet may be affecting us through transits or progressions, can be immensely helpful in understanding the message.

I am currently finishing my book, Developmental Astrology, which will be very useful in looking at astrology as a way of understanding these meaningful coincidences, or times of passage in our lives. If you’d be willing to help in this completion process, please contact me by email or phone for further information.
