Spring 2002

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz

And it may be time for a liver cleanse…

Many people have been feeling exhausted, worn-out, even flu-like. It could be the effects of the Saturn-Pluto opposition talked about in the January e-letter, the most difficult of all planetary combinations. Psychological effects might include discouragement, pessimism, feelings of frustration, even anger. The best antidote is kindness. Take the time to reconnect with nature, soak in the tub with lavender oil, smile at a stranger, let other drivers in in traffic.

And it’s the perfect time of year to do a liver cleanse which will help to clear some of the above feelings. The liver supports all the other organs and can do a better job if it’s healthy. You’ll need spring water, lemons, and top quality unprocessed olive oil. First thing in the morning, squeeze 1/2 of a lemon into an 8 oz glass of room temperature spring water. Add 1 tbls olive oil to the same glass and drink up. Wait 45 minutes before eating anything. In addition, consume lots of fresh green vegetables, and avoid fatty, fried foods and sugar and alcohol. If you can follow this routine for 10 days to two weeks you should feel a resurgence of energy, and feel “cleaner”. It takes time, but it’s a commitment to one’s self. If the liver is particularly toxic you might notice a release of anger but if you express it in a safe appropriate manner and place it becomes part of the cleansing.

The astrological tension that the world has been reflecting will peak one more time - in May of 2002. The Saturn-Pluto opposition first hit in August of 2001, again in late November, and the last pass is this May. These two planets reflect both a need to strip ourselves of things (behaviors, attitudes, possessions) that aren’t working: and to create a stronger foundation in our lives. The question to ask is “What’s working, what isn’t, and what do I want to do about it?” From the highest perspective and with compassion, not in a ruthless manner. It’s funny, but one of the things that occurs to me is that the current interest in microdermabrasion reflects this process: we are stripping away the outer layer of our skin and feeling a bit raw afterwards, but good comes of it in looking and feeling fresher, cleaner, and younger because of having let go of years of accumulation of dead skin cells. The World Trade Center attack is a much deeper reflection of the same process as it is serving as a litmus test for most of us in terms of what our deepest beliefs are, and the actions we are (or aren’t) willing to take to support those beliefs.

Much love - Lynn
